Yamaha YZF-R3, MT-03 to launch in India on December 15
Both the Yamaha R3 and Yamaha MT-03, which have the e 321cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor, will launch in India on December 15.
Yamaha is reportedly all set to launch the YZF-R3 and MT-03 in India on December 15, 2023. The Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 will be based on the same platform.
Reports suggest that the two models could be powered by the same 321cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that produces makes 42bhp and 29.6Nm. The motor will come linked with a six-speed gearbox.
However, they will differ in terms of design. The Yamaha YZF-R3 with a split LED headlight, is a fully-faired bike that will be positioned above the YZF R15 and will rival the KTM RC 390, TVS Apache RR 310, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Ninja 400.
Meanwhile, the MT-03 is the naked version of the R3. It sports a single-pod headlight with a projector LED in the centre flanked by DRLs on the side. It will compete with the likes of KTM Duke 390, TVS Apache RTR 310, and BMW G 310 R. Both bikes will be imported via the CBU route.
The bikes will be equipped with an array of features including a speedometer, odometer, trip meter, tachometer, gear position indicator, and fuel level readout. However, both bikes will reportedly come without Bluetooth connectivity feature.
Yamaha YZF-R3 and MT-03 ride on 17-inch wheels wrapped in road-biased rubber. It has USD front forks and mono-shock. The braking duties are handled by a single front and a rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
According to reports, both the upcoming bikes will be sold through select Blue Square dealerships across 100 cities of the country and deliveries will begin soon.
Yamaha had showcased its new range of big bikes in India in April this year. Apart from the YZF-R3 and MT-03, the two-wheeler manufacturer will also launch the R7, R1M, MT-07 and MT-09.
