Upcoming Hero Xtreme 160R new teaser released, shows a 4-valve setup

Hero has released a new teaser for the new Hero Xtreme 160R which hints towards some major updates including a four-valve setup.

Hero MotoCorp is set to launch it’s upcoming motorcycle, the Xtreme 160R in India on June 14, 2023. Ahead of its official launch, the automobile manufacturer has released a new teaser for the new Hero Xtreme 160R which hints towards some major updates.

The new teaser has been shared on the company’s official website and social media profiles. The teaser shows the TVS Apache RTR 160-rival bike will come equipped with upside-down front forks instead of the conventional telescopic units on the current model. Meanwhile, it will retain a preload-adjustable mono-shock at the back.

The second update the teaser revealed is that the new Hero Xtreme 160R will use a four-valve setup instead of the two-valve layout on the current model. Prior to this, Hero MotoCorp had also updated the valve setup on its Xpulse 200 and Xpulse 200T. But, the output figures did not change much after the update. So, the change is expected to bring similar results on the Xtreme 160R 4V as well. The current model has a 163cc, air-cooled motor that produces 15bhp of power at 8,500rpm and 14Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. The four-valve setup should further improve the top-end performance of the engine on the new Xtreme 160R.

The braking setup of the new Xtreme 160R 4V is said to be similar to the current model. It will feature petal-type disc brakes on both wheels. It will likely get a single-channel ABS as safety feature.

The new Xtreme 160R 4V will take on the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the new Bajaj Pulsar NS160 in India. The new Xtreme 160R is expected to be priced in the premium category with a price range between the Rs. 1.25 lakh and Rs. 1.30 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, the current model has been priced from Rs 1.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards.
