Mahindra XUV700 waiting period drops by 4 months in India

The waiting period of the Mahindra's top-selling SUV Mahindra XUV700 has been reduced by 3-4 months. Check the updated waiting period.

The Mahindra XUV700 is the top-selling SUV of the domestic automobile manufacturer since its launch in 2021. Along with it’s high popularity, it has a long waiting period as well, which stretched over a year. The company has been increasing the production of the XUV700 gradually which has resulted in the reduced waiting period.

Now, the waiting period of Mahindra’s top-selling SUV has reduced by 3-4 months. Despite that, it still has a long waiting period.

The waiting period of the SUV has reduced by up to 6 months for the top-spec AX7 and AX7L petrol and diesel variants. They currently have a maximum waiting period between 8-9 months. Meanwhile, the entry-level MX and AX3 petrol trims have witnessed a rising trend in waiting period by 2 months. They now have up to 4 months of waiting period. The diesel versions waiting period has been reduced by about six months.

The mid-spec AX5 trim has an average waiting period of 6 months. The disparity in the waiting period between the petrol and diesel variants has also evened out.

Mahindra has been ramping up production of the XUV700 gradually, with numbers set to go up from 6,000 units to 10,000 units a month by March 2024.

Mahindra XUV700 powertrain

The XUV700 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine making 200hp and 380Nm of torque. It also gets a 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine in two states of tune – 155hp, 360Nm, and 185hp with 420Nm. It produces 450Nm of torque with the AT. Both engines are mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, with AWD available as an option. The AWD is limited to the diesel AT AX7 and AX7L variants only.

Mahindra XUV700 price and rivals

The XUV700 has a starting price of Rs 14.01 lakh, and goes up to Rs 26.18 lakh, ex-showroom.It rivals both 5- and 7-seater SUVs such as the Tata Harrier and Safari, MG Hector and Hector Plus, and the Hyundai Alcazar.
