First pictures of Xiaomi’s electric car released, check key specifications

Xiaomi is stepping into the world of electric cars, gearing up to make a splash with is SU7 model. The company has reportedly applied for permission to sell these cars in China. The first pictures of the SU7 model are now out! Buzz has it that the plan is to start making these cars in December 2023, and we might see them hitting the roads by the following year.

Back in March 2021, Xiaomi shared its excitement about entering into the EV segment. Tech enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting to see what this car would look like, and now we finally have some pictures. Netizens claim that it looks like a mix of Tesla and Porsche.

The SU7 will come in three versions: the SU7, SU7 Pro, and SU7 Max. Reports say that the delivery of the model is likely to begin from February 2024, if things go as planned. However, no official confirmation on the launch of Xiaomi’s SU7 electric car has been made yet.

Xiaomi’s SU7 is also to go by the model numbers BJ7000MBEVR2 and BJ000MBEVA1. It is expected to be a cool C-class sedan. It will comprise of a single motor under the hood from United Automotive Electonic Systems, giving it a peak power of 220kW (295hp).

The car uses lithium iron phosphate batteries and also offers an optional LiDAR technology for driver assistance and other autonomous features. The SU7 Pro and SU7 Max are a bit fancier. They have got dual motors, delivering 220kW and 275kW respectively. As far as the dimensions of Xiaomi SU7 are considered, it is longer and wider than other popular electric cars like the Tesla model 3.

The SU7 series is expected to have HyperOS in its system, making it convenient to connect with other Xiaomi devices. Designed by the main person behind BMW iX, this car takes on a sporty look. The SU7 series might come in shades of grey and blue.
