Bhubaneswar: The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar on Saturday predicted a light to moderate thundershower with lightning in 10 districts of Odisha including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
There will be moderate rain and thundershowers in some parts of Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Cuttack ( including Cuttack ) and Khurda ( including Bhubaneswar ) during next three hours.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
It is pertinent to mention that the weather department has issued an Orange and Yellow Warning for different districts of the State from 8.30 AM of July 9 and 8.30 AM of July 13.
Adding to it, the MeT had also predicted two low-pressure areas to form next week due to which Odisha is likely to continue to receive spells of rain till July 15. The two predicted low-pressure areas are likely to develop on July 9 and July 13. The weather department has further predicted heavy rains on July 10 and July 14 across the State while very heavy rainfall in some parts of south Odisha.
