Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to meet Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy today

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will meet here on Tuesday to discuss matters concerning both the neighbouring states. Andhra CM will arrive at Bhubaneswar’s Biju Patnaik International Airport at 4.30 pm.

Reportedly, the meeting has been scheduled to be held from 5.50 pm at the Lok Seva Bhavan.

The chief ministers are likely to discuss issues regarding the Kotia border dispute in Koraput district, construction of Neradi barrage over the Vamsadhara river, and the Polavaram multi-purpose project on the Godavari river, added reports.

Earlier on Monday, the Chief Minister held a preparatory meeting to discuss these issues with senior officials.

Reddy will elaborate upon the mutual benefits that will accrue due to the construction of the Neradi barrage. A total of 103 acres of land is required from Odisha for the construction of the barrage, of which 67 acres is riverbed area. The barrage will provide immediate irrigation facilities to 5,000-6,000 acres of land in Odisha, further added reports.

Recently, tension mounted when the Odisha Police put up barricades along the bordering villages to prevent intrusions by Andhra Pradesh officials.

As per the released schedule of Andhra CM Jagan Reddy, he will arrive at Gannavaram airport at 11.00 am and reach Pathapatnam in Srikakulam at 01.15 pm and attend Pathapatnam MLA Reddy Shanti’s daughter’s wedding.

Later, he will proceed to Visakhapatnam airport at 3.30 pm and fly to Bhubaneswar. After the meeting with Odisha CM, he will return and will reach at around 9 pm at his residence at Tadepalli.
