Bhawanipatna: Mystery shrouded the death of a newly-married woman whose body was found hanging from a room at her in-laws’ house in Karlasoda village under Sadar police limits in Kalahandi district today.
The deceased has been identified as Sabitri Rana. She had been married two months ago.
The death came to light after Sabitri’s in-laws called up Kalahandi Sadar Police Station today morning and reported the death. They pleaded ignorance on the cause of the death to police and claimed that the body was recovered hanging to the ceiling of the deceased’s room in the morning.
Later police rushed to the spot and seized the body for autopsy.
On the other hand, after getting the news of death the deceased’s family has alleged that she was being tortured by her in-laws since the marriage and might have been eliminated by them.
