Jajpur: At least two people were killed while 20 were injured after the bus they were travelling in collided with a truck from back in Odisha Jajpur district on Saturday. The incident occurred in National Highway Number 16 near Kadei Chhak under Barchana Police limit of the district.
According to sources, the bus carrying over 50 people was en route from Kolkata to Puri when the bus lost it control and hit a truck from behind. The incident result in the death of two people on the spot, while 20 people were left injured.
The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital while four of them were shifted Cuttack hospital as their condition deteriorated.
On receiving information about the incident, police immediately rushed to the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. Further detailed reports related to the incident are awaited.
Earlier, a a man died after being hit by an unknown vehicle in Odisha’s Balasore district. The incident occurred in Soro of the district.
According to sources, the man was returning from his daughter’s house after giving her the gifts for Savitri Brata. While returning home, he was hit by an unknown vehicle, following which he died on the spot. Police reached the spot after receiving information and initiated a probe into matter.
