72 Congress leaders including many councillors join BJD

Bhubaneswar: As many as 72 Congress leaders and workers including a dozen of councillors from Banki assembly constituency in Cuttack district joined the state ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday.

“I am glad that many Congress workers, including councillors have joined the BJD. They are from the Banki constituency,” said BJD supremo and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik while welcoming the Congress members at his residence.

“We want to join our hands in the developmental activities of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik who has done lot of developmental works for the state and its people,” said the newly BJD joined former Congress workers in their media reactions.

All of them joined the conch party in the presence of Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy.
