Reliance Jio to launch cloud PC laptop soon; Might partner with HP, Lenovo or Acer

When it comes to telecom, Reliance Jio has been offering quality services. According to a recent report by Economic Times, the company is currently planning to launch a cloud PC in the Indian market soon. If this happens, it will be the second laptop of the company that will be launched in 2023. For those who are unknown, Jio has already entered the laptop market with JioBook in the year 2022.
What will the new Jio cloud laptop offer?
The new Reliance Jio is expected to be manufactured by hardware manufacturers like HP, Acer, Lenovo, etc. The laptop is expected to be launched in few months in India. The cloud PC laptop is expected to be priced at around Rs 15,000. The cost of the cloud laptop will be significantly affordable as all the processing of the laptop will happen at the back end in the Jio cloud, said a senior company official. For those who are unknown, the cost of a laptop depends on hardware like memory, chipset, and much more.
The ET report also suggested that the storage and processing on the Jio cloud will help to slash the cost of ownership by roughly Rs 50,000. This will also help users to access all the services at a fast speed.
The report has also suggested that the trials are currently underway on HP Chromebook for the proposed cloud PC. Chromebooks are laptops that run the Chrome OS of Google. The Chrome OS from Google offers cloud storage.
Subscription
Once launched, the cloud PC can be had with a monthly subscription. If you are someone who does not want to purchase a new device, you can opt for cloud PC software and then install it on any desktop or smart TV. Jio users will get several services for free under the monthly subscription. The special features of the Jio cloud laptop will be available after they purchase more services.
