Prototype of Tecno Phantom Ultimate rollable smartphone showcased at the MWC
Smartphone manufacturers are increasing their creativity level day by day and this can be seen in the design of smartphones. With each passing year, we can see manufacturers presenting their foldable or flappable display. OEM company Tecno already manufactures foldable devices and the company has recently showcased the prototype of the Phantom Ultimate rollable smartphone. Even though the company had presented the concept of the smartphone earlier it was only through demo videos. However, this year Tecno brought forward an actual prototype of the device.
Even though the smartphone is on a long way to be meet the commercial launch, it is still in the working phase. The smartphone gets a wrap-around 6.55’’ display that is on the left side. As the user presses a button, it grows wider, and more screen appears from the side. The diagonal of the smartphone grows as much as 7.11’’ in just 1.3 seconds. You might feel that the second display is on the back, but it is the main display. Users can see the display through a glass window. The apps and UI on the Tecno Phantom Ultimate adjust according to the size of the screen.
The smartphone measures 9.93mm thick and is slimmer than any foldable device. Techno currently offers the Phantom V Fold and the V Flip and the company is planning to make them even better.
The company has come up with a Borderless Foldable Main Screen. This modification of the Ultra Thin Glass (UTG) is attached to the phone and that allows the manufacturer to shrink the bezel around the screen.
Tecno during last year’s MWC unveiled the Chameleon Color Technology. It is a panel present on the back of the smartphone and it can set one of several thousand colours. Tecno has pointed out that it takes just 0.03 seconds to shift to a different colour.
