Google Pixel fold, Pixel 7a price revealed ahead of expected May 10 launch

Google is expected to unveil it's first foldable phone 'Pixel Fold' and its next mid-range smartphone 'Pixel 7a' at Google I/O on May 10.

Google is expected to unveil it’s first ever foldable phone ‘Pixel Fold’ along with its next mid-range smartphone ‘Pixel 7a’ at Google I/O on May 10. Prior leak reports have also hinted that both devices could be unveiled together at the company’s annual developer conference.

While other reports have indicated that although Google might announce the device together but when it comes to launch of both the devices, the timing could be different.

The Pixel 7a is tipped to be priced at $499 (around Rs 40,938). It will likely go for sale immediately after launch in four shades named Charcoal, Snow, Sea, and Coral. The Coral colour could be exclusive to the Google Store. If this comes out to be true then buyers have to pay $50 more in comparison to the Pixel 6a. Google will continue selling the Pixel 6a even after its successor was launched with a slight price drop starting on May 10. But, as the company has not confirmed any information yet then all this remains as speculation.

The Pixel 7a is said to feature a new 64 MP primary sensor alongside a 13 MP ultrawide shooter, the Tensor G2 SoC, a display with 90 Hz refresh rate, and support for wireless charging.

At the other end of Google’s price scale, the Pixel Fold is said to be priced at $1,799 (around Rs 1,47,591). Pre-orders will start on May 10 on the Google Store, and May 30 from carriers. It will only become available on June 27, though.
