Beware! Joker virus back on Google Play Store, Uninstall these 14 Android apps immediately

Beware Android phone users! The very dangerous malware Joker ‘virus’ has once again surfaced in Google Play Store apps. This Joker virus is a malicious code that hides in Android applications and can hack information such as your contacts and text messages device info, OTPs and do many other unauthorized things.

According to Kaspersky malware analyst, Tatyana Shishkova, this malicious virus has been found in 14 Android apps. The malware analyst has revealed the names of these infected apps in a series of Tweets.

Joker virus is one of the most-persistent malware that keeps coming back to Google Play Store by changing its code and execution method or payload-retrieving techniques. The virus can steal users’ data, including SMS, contact list, and many other things.

Joker malware was first discovered in the year 2017. Google published a blog post about the virus in 2019 and confirmed its existence. Though the google has managed to tone down the menace of the Joker malware since 2019, it still rears its ugly head from time to time in Android apps.

So, if you have any of the below mentioned apps installed in your apps you should delete from their phones immediately.

Here are the 14 apps that are infected by the Joker virus.

1. Super-Click VPN: This is a free free VPN app. Removed from Google Play Store, APK files are available.
2. Volume Boosting Hearing Aid: This app can help you to make your smartphone work as a hearing aid.
3. Battery Charging Animation Bubble Effects: This app has some colourful and beautiful animation effect that will show during your battery charging.
4. Flashlight Flash Alert on Call: This apps will show flash light alert when calls and SMS are received.
5. Easy PDF Scanner: This one is a PDF scanner.
6. Smart TV Remote: It is a universal TV remote app.
7. Halloween Coloring: The app is a Halloween coloring game.
8. Classic Emoji Keyboard: The app claims to offer 3000-plus emojis.
9. Volume Booster Louder Sound Equalizer: This app is said to improve volume quality of your Android phones.
10. Super Hero-Effect: This app provides special effects like fire, lighting, energy and laser effects.
11. Battery Charging Animation Wallpaper: This one will alert you when your battery is fully charged, aim is that you can unplug your phone/tablet.
12. Dazzling Keyboard: The app is for those looking for personalised keyboard.
13. EmojiOne Keyboard: It is also a keyboard app that has gesture inputs, cloud prediction and voice input.
14. Now QRCode Scan: This app claims to turn mobile phone into professional multi-function barcode scanner.
