Apple accessories price hike: Apple AirPods Pro, AirPods Max and AirPods gets costlier in India
Tech giant Apple has silently hiked the prices of its accessories available in India. The accessories that have undergone price hikes include products like AirPods Pro, AirPods Max as well as AirPods (3rd generation). The price hike is quite evident as the company (Apple) has already mentioned new prices for its products on its official website.
The prices of AirPods Pro, AirPods Max and AirPods (3rd generation) have received a price hike of up to 10 percent. The AirPods Pro received a price hike of Rs 1,400 and currently costs Rs 26,300. The earlier price of the AirPods Pro was Rs 24,900. The AirPods Max has a current price of Rs 66,100 against the earlier price of Rs 59,900. The price hike for the AirPods Max is Rs 6,200. The 3rd generation of AirPods gets a price hike of Rs 2000. The current price is Rs 20,500 while the earlier price was Rs 18,500.
Even though Apple has not clarified about the hike in its prices, the change in custom duty is expected to be the reason behind it. India has recently hiked custom duty on its import products. However, the Apple products that are assembled in India will not have any effect.
The AirPods Pro was launched in 2019 and it offers an active noise cancellation (ANC) feature, spatial audio and many other features. The AirPods (3rd generation) launched in September 2021 and offered up to six hours of listening time. On the other hand, the AirPods Max gets a 20 hour listening time along with ANC feature turned on. AirPods Max offers Dolby Atmos along with Adaptive EQ support.
Apple launched iPhone SE (2022) and iPad Air (2022) in March. iPhone SE (2022) starts at Rs 43,900 for the base 64GB storage model. The top-end 256GB variant carries a price tag of Rs 58,900. On the other hand, the iPad air starts at Rs 54,900 and goes up to Rs 82,900 in India.
