Rayagada: Police today arrested a Clerk of Rayagada District Education Officer’s (DEO) office for allegedly trying to sexually harass a lady teacher of Gudari area in return to revoke her suspension order.
The accused Clerk has been identified as Satyanarayan Bisoyi.
Rayagada Police initiated action against Bisoyi after the victim teacher met Rayagada Collector yesterday and conveyed him about her plight. Later a police complaint was registered in connection with the case.
As per the complaint, the victim had been suspended from her duties this year by the DEO due to dereliction of duty after she failed to fill up the Matric Examination form within the stipulated time.
Later, as she visited the DEO office for the revoking of her suspension, the accused started exploiting her. Bisoyi first demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000 and then sought sexual favour from her over the phone.
On the other hand, the accused Clerk has rubbished the allegation made against him and dubbed it as a conspiracy.
