Youth allegedly killed by friend in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: A youth has been allegedly killed by his friend at Kumbhari village under Badmal block in Jharsuguda district on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Jatish Sahu.

Reportedly, a heated argument took place between the deceased and alleged accused. Following this, Jatish’s friend hit him on the face with a brick in a fir of rage.

Jatish had left the house at around 10.30 PM last night after being called by some of his friends. Later, he was found by the local cops in a critical condition with a severe head injury.

A 108 emergency ambulance was called to the spot but as it was delaying its arrival, he was taken to a nearby hospital by the police van. Due to this, he reached the hospital after a delay of one and half hour.

After his preliminary treatment, the doctor there referred him to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla. But as his family members arrived late and another ambulance could not be arranged as fast as it was needed to be, Jatish took his last breath at the hospital.

The Odisha Drivers Association of Jharsuguda district has alleged that Jatish lost his life due to lack of ambulances services.

Till the last report was filed, police have detained two persons in this connection and initiated a probe into the incident.
