Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident a woman and her son were found dead here in Odisha today. It has been suspected that the two were murdered. The incident took place in Kalinga Nagar area.
As per reports, the dead body of a woman and her son were found lying inside the house. From the prima facie evidence the two are suspected to have been murdered while the reason behind the crime is yet to be ascertained.
Also, the husband of the deceased woman has fled from the scene following the incident, reports said.
Police personnel from Tamando Police Station had reached and started investigation by the time this report was written.

DCP has also reached the spot. It seems the deceased woman and her son have been strangled to death, says DCP. The scientific team is on the way to the spot.

Police have detained husband of the deceased woman and his interrogation is underway.
Identity of the deceased persons have been ascertained. The woman has been identified as Swarnalata and her son as Kanha.

As per preliminary investigation these facts have been surfaced. Deceased Swarna Lata Mangaraj was married to Abanti Bijaya Mangaraj while the couple was having a 10 year old son.
He was having some financial problem due to loss in share market trading. He decided to kill his family members and thought of killing himself.
As per his statement yesterday he mixed sleeping tablets in food. His wife and son fell asleep and at 3 am today morning he killed them both by strangulation using an odhni. He later tried to harm himself by a knife but did not succeed and later left the house and was roaming around.
Police apprehended him today evening.
On the other hand, the scientific team has reached the spot. They are collecting the evidences.
