Yet Again Five More Odisha MLAs Test COVID-19 Positive

Bhubaneswar: Five more legislators tested positive for the virus COVID-19 ahead of the monsoon session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly starting from today. Of the five MLAs, two are from the BJP and three from the BJD.

According to sources, 25 MLAs had undergone a COVID-19 test at the State Assembly premises on Monday.

During the test, five MLAs Jayant Sarangi (Puri) BJP, Budhan Murmu (Saraskana) BJP , Angad Kanhar (Phulbani), Saroj Meher (Patnagarh)  and Bikram Panda (Berhampur) of the BJD party tested positive.

Earlier, 15 MLAs including Deputy Speaker Rajanikant Singh tested positive for the virus during a test conducted on Sunday.

As announced by the Odisha Assembly speaker Surjya Narayan Patro, the legislators tested positive will not be allowed to attend the monsoon session of the House which begins on Tuesday.
