Woman Lawyer Found Hanging In Odisha Capital, Family Alleges Foul Play

Bhubaneswar: Body of a woman lawyer was found hanging under mysterious circumstances inside a house at Vijay Vihar under Dhauli police limits last night.

The body of Deepali Priyadarshini, a native of Balasore was found hanging from her rented accommodation.

The younger sister of the deceased Sephali Priyadarshini however alleged foul play in the incident. She said that she had been to her friend’s house last night when she received a call from a male friend of her sister.

“He told me that my sister has locked the room from inside and was not responding. I immediately informed the police and rushed to the house. Police broke open the door and she was found hanging from the ceiling fan,” said Sephali.

Police have registered a case of unnatural death and have started an investigation. “The youth who had called the younger sister of the deceased is also a native of Balasore. His mobile remained switched off after the incident. We are trying to trace him,” said a police official.
