Woman dies, another injured as soil caves on them in Nabarangpur district
A woman died while another was critically injured after soil caved-in on them near Loharaguda village under Dabugaon Police limits of the district today.
Nabarangpur: A woman died while another was critically injured after soil caved-in on them near Loharaguda village under Dabugaon Police limits of the district today.
The deceased has been identified as Soradu Bhatra of Kaliaguda village while the critical injured has been identified as Tulabati Gauda of Manuguda village.
A group of women had reportedly gone to collect some red soil to use it as mud-plaster to paint the house in view of the upcoming festival of the tribal community named ‘Diali.’ However, a portion of the soil caved-in on them causing the death of Bhatra on the spot.
Gauda was rushed to Umerkote Community Health Centre for treatment. Her condition is state to be critical.
On being informed, a team of cops from the Umerkote Police station started an investigation into the matter.
