Dhenkanal: In a shocking incident, an Odia woman jawan of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been killed in a road accident in Jagalpur area under Nagpur in Maharashtra State yesterday.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Subhashree Sahoo, a resident of Kantioputasahi village under Tumusingha police limits in Dhenkanal district of Odisha.
Subhashree who had been posted in Bengaluru in Karnataka by the central force a few months back had been deployed on election duty in Nagpur in Maharashtra for the ongoing General Election-2019. She was standing on the road after alighting a CRPF van en-route to a polling centre while a speeding pick-up van mowed her down.
Although the woman jawan was rushed to Jagalpur Hospital immediately following the mishap, she died under treatment there.
Subhashree’s mortal remains will be flown back to his native village today.
