With the aim to observe Savitri Brata, woman helps husband to flee from jail in Odisha

Koraput Circle Jail authority took Chintu to Koraput Hospital for treatment. However, he managed to flee from the hospital.

Koraput: With the aim to observe Savitri Brata, a woman allegedly helped her jailed husband to flee from police custody in Odisha last night.

One Chintu Niraki of Machhakunda area of Koraput district was serving a jail term in Koraput Circle Jail. However, with the aim to escape, he complaint of feeling sick and requested the jail officials to take him to the hospital.

The Koraput Circle Jail authority took Chintu to Koraput Hospital for treatment. However, he managed to flee from the hospital.

Taking a serious note of case, police conducted search operation at all possible locations to arrest the accused. After a frantic search, police traced and arrested Chintu from Rayagada district late yesterday night.

When asked about the reason behind fleeing from the hospital, Chintu narrated the cops about her wife’s plan to help him escape. Based on the accused person’s information, police also detained his wife for interrogation.

It is said that Chintu’s wife planned for her husband’s escape as she had decided to observe the Savitri Brata in his presence.

It is to be noted here that the Hindu Odia married women observe the Savitri Brata by keeping fast and praying for the long life and wellbeing of their husbands.
