White tigress ‘Vijaya’ delivers 2 cubs in Odisha’s Nandankanan

Bhubaneswar: In what could gladden the animal lovers, the population of tigers in Nandankanan Zoological Park went up with the birth of two cubs today.

According to reports, white tigress ‘Vijaya’ delivered two cubs one at 7.5 AM and another at 8.AM.

The tigress delivered the cubs out of mating with normal coloured tiger ‘Roshan’ during June this year. With these cubs (one white and one normal – sex not yet identified) the population of tiger at the zoo increased to 26.

Now there are 8 white (4 male and 4 female) 14 normal (5 male and +9 female) and 2 Melanistics tiger excluding these cubs.

Notably, a ten-year-old tiger named ‘Manish’ had died at Zoological Park on September 2. It was suffering from Blood Protozoan disease.
