Wall collapses in Dhenkanal: Woman died, Daughter-in-law critical

Dhenkanal: An elderly woman died while her daughter-in-law has sustained injuries after a wall of the house collapsed on them at Tarajanga village in Kankadahad block of Dhenkanal district in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.

Reportedly, the elder woman of the village and her family members including daughter-in-law Rina Sahu were fast asleep when the mud wall collapsed on them at around 3 AM. As a result, the elder woman was trapped under the wall.

The locals immediately tried to rescue them. However, the elder woman had died by the time family members rescued her from under the debris. On the other hand, her daughter-in-law was rescued in a critical condition.

On getting information, the local Revenue Inspector and Kankadahad Police reached the spot and sent the body for autopsy. The RI assured to provide financial aid to the family after the post-mortem.
