Nayagarh: In a fatal pedestrian crash, a blind man has been killed at Mudurang Chhak on NH-57 under Nuagaon police limits in Nayagarh district today.
The mishap took place while the victim, whose identification is yet to be ascertained, was on his way to a nearby village in some work this morning. Rider of a speeding bike which was traveling on the highway lost control over the wheels and ended up hitting the victim while the latter was trying to cross the road.
After sustaining grievous head injury the victim died on the spot.
Angry locals staged a highway blockade soon after the accident and demanded suitable compensation to the deceased’s family.
Police had not arrived at the spot and the blockade was continuing till this report was being filed.
