Union Minister Tudu’s attack on Govt officials: Odisha Statistics Gazette Association meets Development Commissioner, seeks action

Bhubaneswar: Trouble mounted for Union Minister Bishweswar Tudu as members of Odisha Statistics Gazette Association met the Development Commissioner today seeking action against the Minister for attacking government officials recently.

A team of Odisha Statistics Gazette Association members met Development Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena and apprised him about the matter during their half-an-hour meeting with him and demanded action against Tudu.

Speaking about the meeting, one of the members said that the Union also has informed Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik,  5T Secretary VK Pandian, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal about the incident.

On the other hand, all the government employees of Mayurbhanj district wore black badges as mark of protest against Tudu’s attack to their Union members. They also threatened that members of the union would wear black badges across the State from tomorrow and will not cooperate with the Union Minister if action is not taken against him. They also said to have apprised the PMO about the matter through a Twitter post.

It is to be noted here that the Union Minister attacked two government officials, Mayurbhanj District Planning Board Deputy Director Aswini Mallick and Assistant Director Debasish Mohapatra, with chars on January 21.

While Debasish Mohapatra’s hand was fractured, Aswini Mallick sustained severe injuries following the attack by the Union Minister, who is also the Mayurbhanj MP. Currently, both of them are undergoing treatment at Baripada Hospital.
