Temperatures of 39 degrees Celsius & above witnessed in 13 places in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: As many as 13 places of Odisha today witnessed temperatures of 39 degrees Celsius and above, informed the regional centre of India Meteorological Department.

Balangir recorded the highest temperature of the day with 41.5 degrees Celsius. The city became the hottest place in the State for the third consecutive day.

Two cities sizzled at 40 degrees Celsius and above. They are Bhawanipatna (40) and Jharsuguda (40.3).

Likewise, eight places in the State recorded maximum day temperatures of 39 degrees. They are Angul (39.1), Baripada (39.0), Sambalpur (39.8), Sundargarh (39.5), Hirakud (39.1), Talcher (39.0), Sonepur (39.4), and Paralakhemundi (39.0).
