Cuttack: In a shocking incident, a youth slit a girl’s throat with a blade allegedly after failing in love here this evening.
According to reports, a youth, whose identity is yet to be known, allegedly was in love with a girl, who was working in a saree showroom in the Silver City. However, after learning that she was loving somebody else, the youth got angry and attacked the girl with a blade this evening.
Sources said that the accused barged into the saree showroom and slit the girl’s throat and hands with a blade before anyone could waylay him.
After hearing the girl’s cry for help her colleagues rushed to the spot and managed to catch hold of the youth and informed the local police, which reached the shop and arrested the accused.
Meanwhile, the girl has been admitted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.
An investigation into the matter is underway.
