Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a 15-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide after her parents denied her of a new dress for Kumar Purnima at Panikata village under Balipatna police limits today.
As per reports, the deceased identified as Chandni Sahoo had demanded a new dress for the festival for which she had an argument with her family members.
The minor girl, however, took the drastic step after her family members did not buy her a new dress. Sahoo later consumed insecticide and was rushed to the nearest hospital. She was subsequently referred to the Capital Hospital where she was declared received dead.
