Senior leader Subash Chauhan resigns from BJP

Bhubaneswar: Senior BJP leader Subash Chauhan, who had declined the post of vice-president of the party yesterday expressing his displeasure over denial of Lok Sabha ticket from Bargarh, today resigned from the party.

Chauhan arrived at the party’s State headquarters in the noon and submitted his resignation letter addressed to Odisha BJP chief Basant Panda.

While reacting to media persons ahead of leaving the party office Chauhan turned emotional and claimed that he had worked relentlessly for past five years to strengthen BJP in Bargarh. That apart, the former Bajrang Dal convener also expressed his shock over the functioning of Odisha BJP and claimed that in the current scenario it is being run by a few influential leaders.

Earlier, Chauhan had taken to social media to vent out his anger over not getting a chance to contest for Lok Sabha from Bargarh, for which the lotus party has chosen Suresh Pujari.

In his social media post Chauhan had claimed of amassing the highest number of votes among all the contesting BJP candidates in the state in 2014 election.
