School van rams into parked JCB in Sambalpur, 2 critical

Sambalpur: At least Seven students sustained injuries while  two of them were reportedly critical after a speeding school van they were travelling in rammed into a JCB parked at the roadside at Ambiranagar here this morning.

The children, identified as students of St. Joseph School, were immediately rushed to the Sambalpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH). Some of them were later shifted to a private run hospital after their condition deteriorated.

Sources said, the mishap occurred at around 7.30 AM when the van, carrying a total of nine students, was on way to the school.

However, the driver of the van managed to flee from the spot.

Meanwhile, Ainthapali Police launched a man haunt to nab the absconding driver.
