Sambalpur Murder: Accused confesses killing lecturer for a mobile set

Sambalpur: In a shocking revelation in the six-day-old Mura College lecturer murder case, the accused has confessed that he killed the victim merely for a mobile set.

The accused identified as Dukhanasan Bag (20) had been arrested by Sambalpur Police yesterday.

As per the confession of Bag during his interrogation by police, he visited the house of the deceased Hrudanand Pradhan (46) on the day of the incident to had a discussion on insurance policies.

However, after seeing the new mobile set which Pradhan had purchased recently Dukhanasan developed a greed for it and hit the head of the former with a stick from behind to snatch the same away.

To confirm the death of the victim, the accused strangulated him later and fled from the spot.

Notably, after Hurdanand’s death police was tracking his stolen mobile phone. The accused was located and nabbed after inserting the SIM in the phone yesterday.
