Rival Groups Clash Inside Police Station In Odisha

Balasore: In a shocking incident, two rival groups clashed inside the Remuna police station in Balasore district of Odisha on Tuesday night.

The injured have been identified as Raghunath Sahu and Pramita Das of Madhipur village.

According to reports, the fight took place over a past enmity between one group from Mandarpur and another from Nianbag following which they had come to register their complaints at the police station.

However, the rival groups had a heated argument and started attacking each other with sharp weapons in which two people sustained critical injuries. The property inside the police station has been vandalized.

The injured people have been admitted to the District Headquarter Hospital (DHH) in Remuna. On the other hand, two platoons of police forces have been deployed to keep a check on further unrest.

No complaint has been registered yet from either side over the incident. However, the cops have launched a probe into the matter based on the CCTV footage.
