Relief for health workers who worked during Covid in Odisha

The Orissa High Court, ordered a stay on the publication of results of exams conducted to fill as many as 8,000 health worker posts.

Cuttack: A much-needed relief has been provided to the the health workers who worked during the Covid 19 pandemic in Odisha.

The Orissa High Court on Monday, ordered a stay on the publication of results of recruitment exams conducted by Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) and OSSSC (Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission).

The exams were held to fill as many as 8,000 posts. The Orissa High Court has provided a much needed temporary relief for health workers who were working during the Covid pandemic.

The selection process for about eight thousand posts is still pending. The result will not be published until the order of the High Court.

The notification for the recruitment was published by Staff Selection Commission and Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission on July 15, 2020.

In view of the rapid spread of Covid 19 in the state the Government of Odisha has decided to recruit health workers for the various Covid care homes in each Panchayat of the state.

The government has decided to recruit 7000 people for the 6798 Gram Panchayats across the state.

The engagement will be temporary for the time period of three (3) months. The remuneration will be on daily wage basis. The recruitment shall be done by the CDM and PHO on walk-in basis read the advertisement back then.
