Baliguda: In a success to police against the Red rebels they busted a camp in Khamankhol forest under Baliguda block in Kandhamal district last night and seized a huge cache of Maoist items from the spot.
As per the report, a joint team of Special Opeartion Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) which took part in the raid which was conducted following a tip-off on the presence of the Maoist camp in Gadimaska area inside the forest last night.
While around 30 to 40 Maoists are believed to have present in the camp they managed escape getting early information on the raid.
The seized Maoist items include uniforms, shoes, cooking items, water containers, mobile phones, walkie talkies, umbrellas, medicines and syringes in large numbers, a per the report.
On being contacted over the matter, Kandhamal SP Pratik Singh said the assessment of the seized items is currently underway and detailed information to the media will be provided later.
