Malkangiri: Torrential rains, overflowing rivers and a series of landslides ravaged Malkangiri district in Odisha. People residing around Banda ghat were worst affected as several villages were lashed by heavy rains. Many houses were collapsed and large section of standing crops was damaged.
Chitrakonda MLA Dambaru Sisa visited Bonda ghat area yesterday and took stock of the situation. He distributed plastic mates, dry food items, clothes in rain-hit villages.
The young BJD MLA also assured the affected families that he would continue to provide assistance in every possible way.
