Puri: Miscreant stabs man over Sanskrit verse, victim critical

In another case, a miscreant named Musa alias Babuli Swain was arrested in Puri for murder attempt

Puri: In a rare incident, a miscreant stabbed a man over uttering Sanskrit verse (sloka) in Puri of Odisha. The victim has been admitted to hospital for treatment. The incident took place at the Narendra kona on Saturday.

The victim has been identified as Sitakanta Mohapatra from Nayagarh.

As per reports, the miscreant had no prior enmity with the victim. However, he attacked Mohapatra with a knife complaining why he uttered Sanskrit sloka (verse).

Following the attack, Mohapatra was rushed to the district headquarter hospital in a critical condition. The police have reached the hospital and an investigation is going on in this connection.

In another case, a miscreant was arrested in Puri for murder attempt. Identified as Musa alias Babuli Kumar Swain had parked an auto rickshaw in front of the house of Gopal Chandra Panda near Achari matha on last 29 April. He terrorised people at a khaja shop after which he was arrested by Puri Town Thana Police.
