Puri Jagannath Temple fund of Rs. 545 crores in YES bank safe, assures RBI

Bhubaneswar: After the Yes bank big financial crisis the big question in Odisha is about the fate of the fund Lord Jagannath temple in Puri of Odisha. The temple authorities had deposited Rs. 545 crores with Yes bank. The amount is  set to mature on 16th and 29th of this month. The opposition party has raised question in this matter.

As per reports, the temple chief administrator has written to RBI seeking safety of the deposited money with Yes Bank. He has sought permission to withdraw the deposited money once the funds matures. Besides, Odisha Finance Commissioner has talked with RBI authorities. The Finance Commissioner said that RBI has assured about safety of the money.  no money will be lost. Loss of crores of rupees is the question which is looming among people of Odisha and devotees of Lord Jagannath.

Reportedly the temple administration has contacted RBI to look into the matter. RBI had earlier limited the withdrawal limit of 50,000 rupees per day for every customer.
