Cuttack: The process of eviction drive for expansion of SCB Medical College and Hospital has started from today.
Before the first phase of eviction, the authorities explained to people, the packages announced and the relocation planned.
This announcement has been made with the help of public address systems.
The Cuttack Collector and CMC Commissioner were present at the location and said that adequate compensation will be provided to those affected and they shall be properly relocated.
The slum dwellers will be relocated to Nipmur and Jobra.
The authorities are aware of the fact that the matric exams are slated to be held on the 2nd March and sufficient caution will be exercised in this regard.
5 colonies including the sweeper colony are scheduled to be evicted.
The residents of the colonies however said that they shall shift only after proper houses have been allocated to them.
The authorities clearly said that everyone who shall be affected by the eviction will be adequately affected.
A compensation of 1 lakh shall be awarded in the first phase and then another one lakh.
