Angul: As many as 500 chicks were killed and properties worth lakhs gutted as a major fire broke out at a private poultry farm in Kosala village under Chhendipada police limits in Odisha’s Angul district on Tuesday.
According to reports, locals spotted the smoke engulfed from the farm, owned by one Bauri Sahu, this morning. The blaze then spread to 10 sheds of the farm with no time, locals said.
On being informed, Fire tenders from Chhendipada reached the spot and doused the flame after hour-long effort.
The cause of the fire mishap is yet to be ascertained, official said.
