Malkangiri: Odisha Panchayat elections 2022 witnessed many new things and rare happenings. Despite being a Mao prone area, polling was successfully conducted in Malkangiri district.
As per reports, citizens of the Bonda ghati cast their vote. As many as 16 polling booths have been established in two panchayats, Andrahal and Mudulipada under Khairput Block where the tribal people cast their vote.
Polling for one Zilla Parishad candidate went on in this Block. As many as 47 booths have been identified as sensitive booths in the District. Despite fear for Maoists as many as 37,609 citizens cast their vote.
It is to be noted that Bonda ghati is located at a height of 3,000 feet comprising 32 villages under Khairaput block in Malkangiri district where the tribal Bonda people live.
