Police rescues another Odisha boy from “Blue Whale” trap

Blue WhaleBerhampur: Timely intervention by Hinjili police saved another valuable life from falling prey to the deadly mobile game “Blue Whale” at Ralaba village under Hinjilicut block in Ganjam district on Sunday. The victim was rescued after police came to know of his addiction to the game on Saturday night.

The rescued student has been identified as Chandan Prasad Khuntia.

From the Facebook posts of the victim, it was apparent that Chandan was into the game over the last couple of days and successfully completed four stages of it. He had also posted a picture of a whale drawn on his left hand in the social media. While the victim was busy playing the game, his family members remained ignorant about it as he was boarding in the hostel of the engineering college of which he was a student. Some friends of the victim called up the Hinjilicut Police last night and informed them about the incident.

Police immediately swung into action and took the boy into custody and seized his mobile phone.

The boy was handed over to his family members this morning.
