Police rescue abducted contractor, aide within 24 hours in Ganjam

Berhampur: Solving a kidnapping case within 24 hours of its occurrence, police have rescued a contractor and his aide from the clutches of abductors in Aska area of Ganjam district late last night.

The rescued victim duo has been identified as Prasanna Gouda and Kalu Jena of the same area.

Police said, Prasanna and Kalu were returning from work last evening when a group of four miscreants intercepted them at Alipur and forcibly took away with them to an unknown place.

After family members of the victim duo lodged a case at Aska Police Station in connection with the case in the same evening, police took prompt action to trace them and rescued from Putibadi-Pathara road.

However, it is still not clear why the miscreants had kidnapped the contractor and his aide and further investigation is underway to nab them.
