Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, police personnel were beaten up in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha on Saturday.
According to reports, the Kharvel Nagar police had allegedly gone to catch mobile thieves in Mali Sahi area of Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, the police had got a tip-off that a regular offender had a number of stolen mobile phones in his custody.
They had gone to arrest the said offender when the locals (slum dwellers) attacked the police personnel and ransacked the jeep.
As many as four policemen were injured in the incident. The police has however successfully arrested 50 people in this connection and is questioning them in this regard.
