Police ASI Suspended In Odisha After Video Demanding Bribe Goes Viral

Jharsuguda: An Assistant sub-inspector of police (ASI) working with Banaharpalli police station in the district was suspended today after a video of the cop demanding bribe went viral on social media.

The cop identified as Parikshita Sahu was seen demanding bribe in the video from a truck driver whose vehicle was seized by the police.

 Jharsuguda SP, Aswini Kumar Mohanty said that Sahu has been placed under suspension.

“I came to know about the incident from the video. He was suspended after an investigation confirmed him of demanding bribe. Further investigation is continuing to ascertain whether he received any bribe,’ said the SP.
