Parents booked for leaving baby locked inside car in Odisha

Dhenkanal: Parents of a two-year-old baby girl, who was rescued from a car in critical condition in Odisha’s Dhenkanal town yesterday, landed in trouble as police today registered a case against the duo.

Taking suo moto cognizance of the incident, Dhenkanal Town police registered a case against the couple under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act and Sections 342 and 34 of the IPC.

The baby girl was reportedly rescued in an unconscious state by locals and security guards, who had to break the window after spotting the baby inside the locked car.

The baby was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital here for treatment.

The parents of the baby, who went to the hospital for ECG, claimed that they had left the baby inside the car as she had fits.
