Over 150 migrants flee from quarantine centres in Odisha

Berhampur: From making arrangements for their smooth return to the State to providing free food and hygiene kits, Odisha government has taken several measures for the safe stay of the Odia migrants at the quarantine centres set up across the State. However,  more than 150 migrants reportedly fled from two quarantine centres.

The migrants reportedly fled from quarantine centres at Janata High School in Beguniapada and Adarsha Vidyalaya at Ragapur in Ganjam districts.

Alleging lack of basic facilities, they broke the gates and run away from the quarantine centres. They had returned from Surat on Saturday.

Till the filing of this report, the local administrations said to have rescued at least 50 of them while police have begun search operation to trace others.
