Orissa High Court to remain closed for 5 days: Check details

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court shall remain shut from 13th January to 17th January, 2022 in view of the unprecedented surge in Covid 19 cases. An order was issued on Wednesday in this regard.

As per reports, in view of the surge in Covid cases in Odisha and due to increase in the Covid 19 positive cases amongst the staff of the High Court, the High Court and its offices shall be completely shutdown for five days. The offices of the High Court shall resume functioning on 18th January, 2022.

Accordingly, the Benches earlier notified for 13th January, 2022 and 17th January, 2022 shall stand cancelled. During the period from 18th January, 2022 to 4th February, 2022 the High Court will function with two Division Benches and seven Single Benches to take up only the exceptionally urgent cases. The cases adjourned to specific dates during the period from 18th Jan to 4th Feb shall be listed from 7th February onwards. Mentioning of routine matters may be avoided during the said period.

The Full Court Reference earlier scheduled to be held on 13th Jan, shall be held on 18th Jan at 2 PM in virtual mode, the order said.
