Jajpur: One girl went missing while her sister was rescued after both of them were washed away in Kharashrota River near Tantighai under Jajpur Sadar police limits today.
As per reports, both the sisters had been to the river to take bath when they were washed away. Locals managed to rescue Najrin Begum while her sister Saista Begum is yet to be rescued.
“We rushed to the spot after hearing screams of the girls. We could manage to drag one of them from water while the other girl was swept away,” said a local.
Personnel of Odisha Fire Service have started a rescue operation to trace the missing girl.
