Jajpur: Inspector-in-charge of Dharmasala Police Station in Jajpur district sustained critical injuries after being attacked by a warrantee to whom he had reached to arrest in Odanga village on Thursday.
The victim, Umakant Nayak, was rushed to Dharmasala Community Health Centre (CHC) immediately due to head injury during the attack and his life was saved.
As per the report, the attack took place this morning after Nayak reached one Netranand Mallick’s home in Odanga village and searched for him. However, the warrantee along with his two sons thrashed the IIC with an iron rod in a pre-planned manner.
Despite the injury the IIC nabbed the accused trio and took them into custody.
The IIC’s condition is stated to be out of danger now.
